Whilst the client was open minded on sector, ideally they wanted to attract candidates from other fast moving, competitive, customer centric sectors such as Retail, Leisure, and Telecoms so this is where we focused the majority of the research. Whilst there was a real requirement to find a candidate who had the agility and pace to make an impact in a fast-paced environment like this, we also needed to find candidates who had world class finance and accounting training and experience from a structured blue chip environment such as the Big 4 accountancy firms and/or a FTSE 100 group.Outcome
The successful candidate was appointed with a background in Big 4 accounting followed by experience in a FTSE 100 global telecoms group. The candidate had all the relevant criteria within their background but also had the aptitude and desire to apply it to a fast-moving PE led environment.
