Following their acquisition by a leading global private equity group, the group needed to embark on a transformation and growth journey where it sought to improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness and grow organically and through strategic acquisitions. The newly appointed executive team required a strong and very commercial General Counsel to help lead the group through this new and exciting stage of its development. This was a very commercial General Counsel role which was responsible for leading the Legal team to create policies and implement strategies to assist the business with its ambitious plans for transformation and growth. The search parameters of the search were not set by sector as the client was quite open on potential candidate background. Experience in private equity was preferential given the nature of the challenge they had ahead but the key criteria was the candidates commerciality and ability to partner with a strong minded and challenging senior team. Therefore, the search was complex and relied heavily on our ability to network around the senior General Counsel community to identify relevant candidates as well as targeting other private equity backed businesses.Outcome
